I illustrated the silhouettes of the novel's principal characters, Elizabeth and Darcy, against a background of a traditional Regency interior. Between the two is the imposing shape of Lady Catherine, Darcy's aunt and one of the primary antagonists to their romance. For the type, I tried to choose a more old-fashioned serif that could fit in a Regency era, and used swashes on the ampersands to evoke the novel's elaborate upper class society.
