The perpendicular lines of the letter H made me want to segment them into a grid of some kind, and eventually I arrived at 8-bit. Each individual "spaceship" is animated on and off at a different time and the "players" at the top and bottom of the animation make it feel as if someone is really playing.

My concept for the letter Z became "zap." To contrast the rigidly structured movements of the H animation, I tried to make the wildly fluctuating forms of the Z move with a lot of energy and apparent spontaneity.
