I chose to base my design around the vehicle of drinking, a cup. For the initial still illustration, I wanted the typography to feel loose and liquid, but to fit together well enough to make the glass seem full. The water pouring into the cup was drawn frame-by-frame, using the bubbles to justify the gaps between letters in the final image.
